Xbox Hardware Refresh Disk

The Xbox Hardware Refresh disk was used in Microsoft’s service locations to wipe the Xbox console clean of any software or user settings. These disks were not meant for public consumption, but occasionally Microsoft service techs would forget to remove them from a user’s DVD drive, which is how a majority of these disks leaked out. They aren’t the most expensive thing to buy if you find one for sale, but they certainly aren’t the most common things either, and they obviously aren’t going to be showing up in Xbox consoles anymore. I actually don’t even have a retail Xbox handy to show you exactly how it works, but look forward to seeing that in the future.
